Gotham Greens – Pullman
In 2015, Gotham Greens, a worldwide leader in technologically advanced commercial-scale urban agriculture, developed the world’s largest commercial rooftop atop of Method Products in Pullman. Four years later, Gotham Greens doubled down on the community, opening its second greenhouse, a new 100,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility that doubles its production and workforce.
The new Gotham Greens greenhouse enables delivery of its leafy greens, herbs, salad dressings and pesto dips year-round to restaurants, grocery stores and farmer’s markets across the Midwest, as well as local food banks like the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Greater Roseland West Pullman Food Network. Gotham Greens grows its produce using hydroponic systems in 100% renewable electricity powered greenhouses that use 95% less water and 97% less land than conventional farming. The new greenhouse features the company’s latest technological advances, including proprietary data-driven control tools for the highest-yielding, most efficient production system on the market today. This highly automated, climate-controlled facility uses less energy than other indoor farming techniques applied commercially and is 50% percent more efficient than its existing facilities.
Gotham Greens operates eight urban greenhouses totaling more than 500,000 square feet across five states and employs nearly 400 people.
