SC Johnson
Six years after opening a soap factory in Pullman, Method Products expanded in the neighborhood when SC Johnson leased a new 400,000 square foot warehouse nearby and added 200 jobs.
SC Johnson, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of household cleaning products and supplies which acquired Method in 2017, leased the new warehouse on the former vacant Ryerson Steel site in Pullman Park in 2020. Today the warehouse handles the entire distribution function of Method’s environmentally friendly cleaning products manufactured in its 150,000 square foot, LEED Platinum-certified plant to retail locations around the world.
CNI teamed up with the Ryan Companies to develop the $30 million warehouse. Allstate provided the equity for the project, one of the first and largest in the Chicago area to be developed through the federal Opportunity Zone program, an initiative created in 2017 to attract investment to dis-invested areas.
